10 Must Have for New mums/dad
Written @ 2:24 AM
A 10 must have list for new mums
(in my opinon)

1) Ru Yi Oil
(Can be bought at any medical shop, cost around $2.00+)
Its a LIFE SAVER when your baby is crying and having tummy pains. It helps relieves wind. Pour the oil on your hands and rub together "furiously" and give the "heat" to the baby.

2) Ameda Breastpump for the budget mums is around 300+
Medela Pump In Style/Pump In style Advance (PIS/PISA)
(PIS is around 400+ PISA is around 600+)
Good for pumping your milk. These two are the best that i gathered. Medela PISA is the first choice, 2nd choice is PIS and 3rd is Ameda.

Personally I have tried PIS and Ameda, PIS is powerful and able to help me clear my blocked ducts and it would hurt when i pump. I was told that its because my nipples is too big for the standard funnel size thats why it hurts.

And i have bought the personalfit funnel and will try again to review when my PISA is here as i have bought it but yet to be sent to me.

For Ameda, its a pretty good pump and it doesnt hurt when i pump, but the "suction" is too "soft" and cant clear my blocked ducts. It definitely comes behind PIS. But for a normal pumping it will do its job and is as good as PIS but when you have engorgement and blocked ducts, then its definitely not the one even though i turned the suction to the maximum which hurts but cant clear at all!

3) BreastFlow Bottle
(around $9 if i didnt remember wrongly, can be bought at takashimaya)
It helps to correct your baby`s latch and it is the closest to the mum`s breast imitiation. Personally this is my number one thing of must have if you bottle feed your baby breastmilk or formula. Its not only me that felt that it corrects the baby`s latch but mummies all over the world also comfirmed it.

4)Baby Sling
(Mums In Mind Sling/Pupsik Pouch etc, Ranges from 40+ and above)
It help me alot when i carry my baby out for short trips or when she want to carry as its thin and easy to fold to bring out and perfect for carrying newborn and small babies.

Else for bigger babies
Ergo Carrier is around $100+ for one

Its better for older babies and heavy babies, i am able to carry Rislin for at least half a day unlike the sling 3-4hours the maximum. But its cons is that it is too bulky to bring out easily

5)Baby swing
(Ranges from 100+ and above)
I used this for Liris and THANKGOD i bought it. It helped settle him when hes too cranky for me to handle.

6)Cot Organiser
(around 20+ )
I do sell this and i LOVED it! I dont have to bend down to take her diapers and its all organised there, diapers, and wet wipes. Its so much more organised and not so messy yet easy to take.

You can view here for more info and to get it if you would like.

7)Baby Cot instead of Playpen
(from 199 and above)
It is much more sturdy than playpen and i have heard horror stories of baby falling from the playpen as its too filmsy and light.. The sturdy and cheap baby cot can be bought at OG at $199 (if i didnt remember wrongly). Im using it now and it can take her weight of around 14kg(i think) so far.. But its for Liris now.

8)Small Size Mittens
I know this is a DUH but when the newborn is out, i have problems with the mittens flying out. For Rislin and Liris and had a hard time buying the mittens, it can be bought at $1.99 at Kiddy Palace.

9)Waterproof Mat/Pad
To be placed at the baby cot as the baby is always leaking pee/poo.

10) Ear Thermometer
When babies are sick with fever, you dont know when is the temperature when its getting too dangerous and the normal thermometer tend to be too slow in taking temperature and the baby keeps fidgetting/keep pulling away the thermometer.
